I first saw the Bag on Bathing Ape website before hearing the news from Bape SG Facebook that the bag is going to be launch today. Truth to be told, I am more a Porter Fan than a Bathing Ape Fan as most of you have seen from my blog postings that it is mostly on Porter Stuff..BUT NOW I am a BIG Fan of Bathing Ape also.....
Nonethless, not wanting to let the chance slip by, I head over to Bape SG store at around 1pm in the rain...(ok it was drizzling) during my lunch to purchase it. It is an anxious moment as I have never stepped into a Bathing Ape Store in Singapore before but I was soon met by the friendly staff who made the purchase process very smooth for me. The Bag that I wanted was the last one available so without second thoughts I just paid for it. Initially needing to fill up some details probably for their marketing or sales profile, but as I was a customer of Y-3 which is also under Kwang Sia Group..there was no need to repeat the process. In fact the whole transcation took less than 10mins to complete which lets me have ample time for my lunch.
I actually wanted to take a few shots of the Bape SG Outlet and some of the items on display but as it was the 1st time visiting the shop for me so I did not do so...although I did a few shots of the Y-3 SAVE Japan tote bag previously at their outlet...Nonethless, the layout of the Bape SG store left quite an impression on me and they do stock up the latest series from Bathing Ape Japan including the Star Wars Collaboration Series although the CDG series was sold out already with many people queueing for it when it was launch.
Anyway back to the Tote Bag that I bought.
I feel that it is pretty similar to the Tanker Series of Tote Bag from HeadPorter other than the Bathing Ape Prints on the Bag. Made of Nylon Material lots of pockets and compartments which is typical of HeadPorter. The Bag measures 35mm x 35mm with a handle for holding and a sling for carrying over the shoulder. Side Zip is to open up the bag for increased storage. The inside of the bag also has both logos of Bathing Ape and HeadPorter as seen. The only thing I do not like is that they painted the closure buttons which will peel from repeated opening and closing, other that that everything is VERY VERY Good.
By the way, the Mini Shoulder Bag is still available if anyone is interested but be warn that good things does not come cheap and the collaboration of 2 Japan fashion Giants certainly is worth every cent inb my opinion!
Now I am waiting for my New ERA HeadPorter Bag to arrival and the next 2 aim of mine is the Mastermind Japan HeadPorter Collaboration and the New ERA Tote Bag from Japan.
Before I go, please be reminded to do your homework before asking me questions why HeadPorter and Bathing Ape Bags are so expensive...becos
1)Quality is Good
2)They do not slash price or markdown for discount easily
3)Brand NAME is very Known!
4)Japanese yen exchange rate is increasing.
