Venturing into Malaysia to see Magazines

I always had this dream, if I were not a retail or front line staff....I probably would have been into marketing or merchandising for the company that I work for..For a mook and rushing to Malaysia is what I called Pure MADNESS!!...but since I was there, I had the opportunity to check out the Magazine Retail Scene in JB as well as visit the 2 bookstores in City Square Mall - Popular and MPH.
MPH seems a bit quiet when I went there, but that did not stop the store from stocking a huge range of titles which I was surprised that some of it are not available in Singapore..especially the Chinese Titles...which speaking of that the range at POPULAR is overwhelming and so is the crowd..Their Magazine Racks are much lower as compared to MPH but their range is certainly bigger even for English Magazines which if no Popular in SG can compare to and would probably pose a serious challenge to Kinokuniya Orchard...although they lack some of the high fashion, artistic and lifestyle range that is readily available at Kinokuniya...I would say they probably have about 1/2 (range-wise) the number of titles.
I was really in a rush for time as I had to rush over to Liang Court to buy a couple of stuff so only took a quick look...so I would probably be there again the next time round.
My Route
1pm - Take Bus at Newton

2pm - Clear Customs and arrive at City Square

3pm - Take Bus back to SG

415pm - Reach Kinokuniya Liang Court to shop
